Steel/Zinc vs. Stainless Steel?
These launch pads are made from highly weather-resistant
materials. Steel/Zinc hardware is subject to some corrosion when
exposed to rocket exhaust residues over a long period of time.
This means the moving parts need to be cleaned and lubricated
periodically to maintain smooth operation. Stainless Steel
hardware greatly reduces the need for periodic maintenance.
